DIFFERENT ROSE
Made in the Midlands of England. On a visit to the SchimJolie silk production plant in England, out in their yard was this rusty old fountain, covered with these tiny but robust flowers known as house leeks. The idea of the archetypal English rose came into my mind. A flower not fragile, but symbolic of strength.
“Different Rose” is about how similar and beautiful we all are, but how history takes certain things within categories or types over times and deems some more beautiful or better than others. Wake up, smell the roses! Smell every flower and you’ll see its own distinct beauty. Everything in Nature is a beautiful thing. Just keep an open and loving mind.

POWDER PINK PEARLS
Walking around London, one of my favorite cities worldwide is always a pleasure. I love the mixture of British regional accents and the vibrant atmosphere in places like Carnaby Street.
This is where I noticed this little flower with its tiny powder-pink pearls. I used my olloclip macro lens and got close. Looking at this image now makes me think of how good we as a people can be, and how much we can achieve if we stand united.
Let’s change this world into a better place. Start with yourself, the person in the mirror. Go out there and be the change you want to see in others. Set a good example.

LOVE IS ALL AROUND
Taken while visiting our silk production studio in England. This house leek plant was growing outdoors of their premises in lovely nature, in an old rusty fountain. It brought a smile to my face as I captured its distinct beauty with my macro lens.
Later that day, the factory bosses welcomed us with big smiles, hospitality and kindness. “Love is all around” is about how you can choose to be loving to others. Be surprised as to how much love and goodwill you’ll get back. Love can overcome everything. Just believe, be happy, and love!

BIG BEN GREAT MAN
This image is taken while whizzing across Westminster, London in a taxi. I am so happy with how this image turned out. Through the natural archway of the leafless winter branches, the statue of a Great Man stands in near-perfect alignment with Big Ben.
This opportune shot makes me think how important it is to seize the moment and live life. Sometimes we get lucky. Other times, not. The point indeed is never to give up.

BRANCH OUT
I just love London and have many good memories from this busy city I lived there when I was younger, working in a restaurant in Sloane Street called L’express. It has changed hands since and is now called Joe’s. When I visit I tend to just stroll around, looking up at the tall beautiful buildings. This image is no different.
Branch Out is about how by choosing to be different and lead your own way, you can accomplish so much more. When you are not afraid of giving up, success will come your way. Always look up to the sky in determination and belief.
